I Love New York Deli planning First Hill 24-hour eatery

Earlier this year, the media (this writer included) was abuzz with reports of I Love New York Deli opening a third location on Capitol Hill.  Owner Jon Jacobs had planned to open his location off Broadway, close to the Pike Pine corridor.  However, he recently announced that his third location will instead be sited on First Hill, near the intersection of Madison and Boren. Jacobs told Hugo Kugiya of Crosscut that the First Hill location will be very different from the original stand at Pike Place Market and the Ravenna location.

I Love New York Deli

[This] third restaurant, near the corner of Boren and Madison, will be his largest by far at 6,300 square feet and will have its own bakery, the culmination of a long-held dream for Jacobs."

Where exactly?
When I first saw it was coming to First Hill I assumed one location. But Boren & Madison? I can't think of a large enough space there unless something is moving out .... can you provide address?

RE: Where exactly?
Cindy we will keep trying to reach Jacobs regarding the location. Meanwhile, where did you think would be the spot (if not Boren & Madison)?

Awesome
I am excited about this - but please, please tell me they'll have crumb cake (not coffee, but CRUMB cake) and black and whites (NY deli standards which I've never seen at their other locations!)

Where exactly?
The only place I can think of is the old Organic to Go which is on Madison between Summit and Minor. I was in the hood last week and thought something looked like it was going into the space but didn't have time to check. Thought I saw a picture of a big deli sandwich in the window.

And what is that crepe place that is going in the old Jamba Juice? And any news what if anything is slated to fill my old spot City Books?

Location Location Location
Okay- I was back in that area today so I scoped things out. I do think that the new deli is going in the old Organic to Go location in the ground floor of the Arnold Building. There is indeed a picture of a quite delectable looking sandwich in the window now and the Organic to Go blade signs are finally gone. And there is signage indicating that construction is going on inside.

This location would make sense since Swedish Hospital employees will be able to access the location without going out on the street via the skybridge from the hospital. Can't really see any employees walking the streets in the middle of the night to pick up a pastrami on rye!

Also I noted the other scheduled changes on the block between Summit and Boylston:

1. Mad Pizza is moving into the corner space formerly occupied by Quizno's.
2. The hot dog wars are going to be kicked up a notch according to the signage in the old Jamba Juice. Crepan is going in which describes itself as a fusion of crepes and gourmet hotdogs.
3. No signage at all in the old City Books space so no clue. I know at one point a pharmacy was scoping out the place but not sure what is up with that.

I will be leaving the area moving up north soon so you are on your own from here on out!

location
I bet it's going into the space left vacant by Mallow. (Just west of Boren on Madison.)

RE: location
That would be a great spot for a 24 hour deli. They'd get traffic from the Hideout bar around the corner.
